I’ve never been a great fan of wireless technology when it comes to phones. I always thought that they’d be much more of an impairment instead of actually offering more convenience to users.
There have been many models of wireless headsets manufactured recently and, while I’ve read a lot of reviews saying that they worked great and really made a difference in communication, I’ve never really felt the need to use them until I got too busy in my work to actually pick up the phone and keep it on my ear for those long conversations with friends, family and business partners.
Today, most companies are trying to develop the smallest Bluetooth headset to make conversing with people over the phone even more convenient. This made me take interest in the gadget as I’ve always been fascinated with how such small devices worked so well.
Since I didn’t want to spend too much money, I decided to go with the Samsung WEP 301 Bluetooth. What came next was a mixture of being pleasantly surprised and shame. I never thought these things actually worked that well.
Looks
The Samsung WEP 301 may not be the smallest Bluetooth headset available today. However, it is considerably small for a headset, even smaller than a AA battery. The item can come in either black or silver and both of these are really slick to look at.
You can also try personalizing it with the colour that you want best with a kit that’s included in the package. When tried on, it is extremely secure and I was able to move freely without ever worrying it would fall off.
That doesn’t mean it would get broken if dropped though because the materials used to manufacture this gadget are quite strong as well. It is designed to lock in place when placed on your ear without having a clip to put it on securely.
There is also an actual earpiece that slides in your ear for a much clearer sound reception. As far as the design is concerned, I really wasn’t blown away per se’. But it did look like it was nice and comfortable to be worn on the ear.
Sound
I must admit, as much as I was impressed with the quality of what I guess to be Samsung’s smallest Bluetooth headset, I still wasn’t convinced that it would actually satisfy me with its sound quality.
That is until I actually tried using it. The sound quality wasn’t all that mind blowing, but I must admit that the clarity of voice was enough to impress me. I never really thought these small devices could be able to allow people to sit back and let their arms relax while talking to people on the phone.
Now that I was proven wrong, I couldn’t wait to try all the other stuff that came with the unit.
Other Positives
If there’s another thing that I learned while using these things, it’s that battery life is important. Because they’re basically wireless, they need their own batteries to power them up and there’s no sense buying these gizmos if you’re just going to have to charge the batteries after an hour or so of standby time and thirty minutes of talk time.
The smallest Bluetooth headset from Samsung has a decent enough battery life to satisfy you for what it’s worth.
Bottom Line
With all the different companies claiming that they’ve created the smallest Bluetooth headset with the newest innovations, I really can’t wait for what Samsung has in store for us next. Using the WEP 301 certainly proved to be a pleasant experience for me and I really am excited about what’s in store for consumers in the mobile phone industry.
